US Government Teachers Blog: Perry's Answer the the Romney Ad

US Government Teachers Blog: Perry's Answer the the Romney Ad: So tomorrow my students will have to figure out which is better, the Romney ad below or this new one today from Perry.

  1. This ad is so much more effective and entertaining. I loved how the constant attacks on Romney's little mistakes made them all seem like a really big problem. Also, this ad didn't attack Obama, like the last one, so that already makes it a thousand times better.

  2. LOL This ad is super powerful. It reminds me of a Movie trailer or preview. Very dramatic. I like how they made strong points by showing Romney contradict himself in public and in his book. Defining Misleading is also a strong idea, not necessarily for people who do not know what the word means, but to really emphasize that Romney is misleading. Great ad!

  3. Perry effectively discredits Romney in this ad. He shows how undecided and confused Romney is and how he would say anything that makes him look good in his present situation. It implies that he cannot be so misleading and undecided and lead the country.

  4. Perry is very effective in this ad in the case that it was an attack ad. Perry attacks Romney not through multiple topics, but only one topic. By showing one issue, Perry can display the many ways Romney has been misleading. As a viewer, one can only the imagine the potentially bad things Romney can possibly do. Perry's argument was especially effective when he showed Romney's contradiction with his own book. Judgmental viewer would look at that with a stern eye because Romney has not accepted his own mistake.

i was very drawn to this ad because of how dramatic and intense it is. i think the music was the main point of attraction for me. otherwise it was very effective in that it was very forceful and straight to the point. i liked how romney's "flaws" were exaggerated to make them seem like unacceptable sins. this gives the viewer a little hint of animosity towards romney, which draws voters away from him. it is a very effective ad to discredit romney.

this was a great ad in my opinion. i felt it was very powerful in its intensity through music and powerful speech. perry did a great job in researching through interviews of romney and pointing out his faults and slip-ups. i found it effective in his pointing out him contradicting himself in different interviews. my favorite part was the end when it played the clip that said "there's a lot of reason not to elect me."

  7. This is one of the most powerful commercials I have seen in my life. It makes Romney seem deceiving and a liar and someone who will be misrepresenting the United States if voted for president which no one wants. Perry is the clear winner in this ad and this is extremely effective. From the beginning, by defining the word "mislead" it was aggressive and gave me the chills.
